Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif's Bharat is currently busy in shattering all the records at the box office. The film has raked in Rs 122.20 crore in just four days and is currently the fifth highest grosser of the year after Uri: The Surgical Strike, Kesari, Total Dhamaal and Gully Boy. While it has turned out be the 14th consecutive Rs 100 crore film of Salman Khan, Bharat has also helped Katrina Kaif to achieve a new milestone in her career as the film has become her venture to hit a century at the box office.
The actress has previously achieved this feat with films like Ek Tha Tiger, Bang Bang, Thugs of Hindostan, Tiger Zinda Hai, Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Dhoom 3. With this milestone, she has equalled the Rs 100 crore club numbers with Deepika Padukone, who also has 7 Rs 100 crore films - Padmaavat, Bajirao Mastani, Goliyon Ki Rasleela... RamLeela, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express, Race 2 and Happy New Year. Well that's an interesting feat, isn't it?
Interestingly, Katrina Kaif was not the first choice for the film as we all know, it was after Priyanka Chopra's exit, that Kat came on board for the film. Talking about this, Katrina had told mid-day, "I read the script from start to finish in three hours and immediately called him to tell him that I loved it. I realized there was an opportunity of going the extra mile with this character. So, it had nothing to do with my friendship with Salman or Ali. In fact, Salman did not even call me after I signed the film. We met directly on the set."
Talking about Bharat, it is an official adaption of a Korean film, Ode To My Father. The film showcases Salman Khan in five different avatars from 18 to 72 years. Bharat also stars Jackie Shroff, Tabu, Sunil Grover, Disha Patani, Nora Fatehi in key roles.
