After making an appearance in an Angelo Katsapis outfit that made her look considerably slimmer, Aishwarya donned the much-talked about Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla sari on the red carpet. But did she live up to all the expectations?
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Cannes Film Festival 2012 outing has been a much-awaited one. And the weight gain controversy had made us all the more curious about Ash's red carpet look. Ash has finally made an appearance, and guess what, she certainly did not disappoint us.
Last night, images of the Bachchan bahu wearing a flowing Angelo Katsapis gown surfaced. And just one look at the diva made us heave a sigh of relief - Ash had finally stepped out sans her strictly-Indian wardrobe. What's more, she even looked much slimmer in this attire! We were almost about to whoop with joy when we realised that Aishwarya was yet to make an appearance in the much-talked about Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla outfit, another traditional number. And we wondered if it would make Ash look heavier than her Angelo Katsapis outing.
Our fears did come true to an extent. Aishwarya definitely looked heavier in the cream-coloured sari and the intricately embroidered full-sleeved blouse that she wore at the red carpet of 2012 amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS Gala at Hotel Du Cap. But it was apparent that Ash and her designers had taken ample care to cover up all the unglamorous flab. Sadly, despite covering herself from head to toe, those extra inches on Ash's waist were clearly visible - especially from the side angles. But that didn't really make us flinch. Do you know why? That's 'coz Ash looked really gorgeous. And we were glad to see mommy back to being her beautiful and graceful self on the red carpet. Also, the diva has finally managed to get rid of that uncool double chin. We like!
