Asin Thottumkal, born on 26 October 1985, is a retired Indian actress who played several roles in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu films. She has bagged herself three Filmfare Awards alongside being a trained Bharatanatyam dancer. She began her acting career in the South Indian film industry and later made her space in Bollywood. She made her acting debut in the 2001 Malayalam film 'Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka'. She went on to star in several successful South Indian films, including 'Ghajini' (2005), 'Majaa' (2005), and 'Pokkiri' (2007). In 2009, she made her Bollywood debut with the film 'Ghajini', which was a remake of the Tamil film of the same name. The film was a huge success, and Asin won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Tamil for her performance. Asin went on to star in several more successful Bollywood films, including 'Ready' (2011), 'Housefull 2' (2012), and 'Bol Bachchan' (2012). In 2016, she married Rahul Sharma, the CEO of Micromax. Asin announced her retirement from acting in 2018. Asin is a popular and successful actress in India. She is known for her beauty, her talent, and her versatility.
