Biography : Asin Thottumkal is popular as Asin. She is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer and actor. She has a bachelor’s degree in English literature. She started off with Telugu movies, moving on to Tamil industry. She can speak eight languages. Her popular movies in the south include Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi, Shivamani, Lakshmi Narasimha and Gharshana in Telugu and M. Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi, Ghajini, Sivakasi, Varalaru and Pokkiri rin Tamil. After delivering such hits, she was dubbed the Queen of Kollywood. Her Bollywood break came in the remake of the Tamil Ghajini opposite Aamir Khan. Ghajini was the biggest grosser at the box office. She then appeared in London Dreams with Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn. Her recent films include Khiladi 786 and Housefull 2. She was also part of the Kamal Haasan starrer Dasavatharam. She endorses several brands and is involved in humanitarian work too.
