Dia Mirza was born Dia Handrich and she is a model, actor and producer. After winning the Miss Asia Pacific International title, she entered Bollywood. Her father Frank Handrich was a German while her mother Deepa is a Bengali. Her father passed away and her mother married Ahmed Mirza. Dia adopted his surname. She debuted in Rehna hai tere dil mein with Saif Ali Khan and Madhavan. She starred in movies like Tumsa nahin dekha, Dum, Deewanapan, Tumko na bhool payenge, Parineeta, Dus and Lage raho Munnabhai. She is also a writer and is involved in social activism, namely PETA, CRY, Narmada Bachao Andolan, etc. She is the brand ambassador of The Body Shop and Panasonic. She married her business partner Sahil Sangha. She has a production house named Born Free Entertainment. She received the Zee Cine Award for best debut.
