Biography : Dimple Kapadia made her acting debut in Raj Kapoor’s Bobby at the age of 16. Eight months before the release of her film, she married Bollywood super star Rajesh Khanna. The film was a runaway hit and Dimple is still remembered for her role of Bobby. After Bobby, she quit films to raise her children. She got separated from Khanna in 1982 and returned to the silverscreen. Her comeback movie was Saagar with Rishi Kapoor and Kamal Haasan. Her noteworthy movies in the 80s were Arjun, Jaanbaaz, Insaniyat ke dushman, Kaash, Akhri Adaalat, Kabzaa, Ram Lakhan, etc. In the 90s, she experimented with art movies and some memorable ones are Rudaali and Lekin. Her commercial successes in the 90s include Prahaar, Narsimha, Ajooba, Angaar, Gardish, Krantiveer, etc. She then graduated to character roles and worked in films like Dil Chahta Hai, Dabangg, Being Cyrus, Cocktail, etc. She was last seen in Finding Fanny. She received Filmfare for best actress for Bobby and Saagar, and the National Award for Rudaali. She has two daughters – Twinkle and Rinke Khanna.
