Gayatri Iyer is an Indian playback singer, primarily in Bollywood. She was born in Mumbai, India, and graduated from the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIML) in 2001. She began her singing career in the early 1990s, and her first major break came in 1995, when she sang the song "Meri Jaane Jana" for the film Insaaf. The song was a huge success, and it helped to launch Iyer's career as a playback singer. Iyer has since sung for many popular Bollywood films, including Salaam Namaste, Dhoom, and Black.
