Keira Knightley is an English actress and singer. She started her acting career as a child artist featuring in television serials and commercials. Her first film debut was in the television film Royal Celebrations in 1993. Her other movies such as A Village Affair, Innocent Lies, Coming Home, Treasure Seekers, Oliver Twist and Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace followed. However, her first starring role was in made-for-television Walt Disney Productions feature Princess of Thieves (2001). Some of her other movies include Bend it Like Beckham, the very successful Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Love Actually, The Jacket, A Dangerous Method, Anna Karenina, London Boulevard, Seeking a Friends at the End of the World, Never Let Me Go, Domino, Pride & Prejudice (she won nominations for the Academy Award for Best Actress and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress), Silk, Atonement (Knightley was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in the Best Dramatic Actress category for the role, as well as a BAFTA Award), The Edge of Love, King Arthur, The Duchess, Last Night, among others. She is also the face of an Amnesty International campaign to support human rights.
