From his college days itself, Prem Chopra was keen on taking up acting. After working for a newspaper, he got his break in a Punjabi film, which turned out to be a huge hit. Some of his earliest works include Shaheed (1965), Upkaar (1967) and Teesri Manzil. After these movies, he was offered the role of villain in a number of films. Some of his works that deserves a mention are Purab Aur Pashchim, Do Raaste (1969), Kati Patang (1970),Do Anjaane (1976),Jaadu Tona (1977), Kala Sona, Dostana (1980), Kranti (1981), Phool Bane Angaarey (1991),Bewaffa Se Waffa. In 1976, Prem Chopra won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award for his role in Do Anjaane.
