RAGHUBIR YADAV

Biography : Raghubir Yadav dons many hats – he is an actor, singer, composer and set designer. A student of the National School of Drama, Delhi, he has theatre and films to his credit. He debuted in the film Massey Sahib, which won him an international award. He has performed in more than 70 plays as singer and actor. In films, his noteworthy work include Salaam Bombay, Rudaali, Maya Memsahib, Suraj ka saatvan ghoda, Bandit queen, 1942: a love story and Darna mana hai amongst others. Three of the films he worked in got Academy Award nominations – Lagaan, Salaam Bombay and Water. His television stint is remembered for the roles of Mungerilal in Mungerilal ke haseen sapne and Mulla Nasiruddin as well as Chacha Choudhary. He has also portrayed the role of Hitler on screen. As a composer he has created music for Maya Memsaab, Massey Sahib, Rudaali, Aasmaan Se Gira, O Darling ye hai India, Samar, Sunday, Darna mana hai, Ramaji London waale, Billu Barber, Dilli 6. He sang the song Mehngai dayaan from Peepli Live. He has been the voiceover in many ads including Pepsi, Maggi, Britannia, etc. He has also composed and sang the song for Madhya Pradesh Tourism – MP ajab hai, sabse gazab hai. He is the only actor to have received the Silver Peacock Award as Best Actor for Massey Sahib.
