Randeep Hooda is an Indian film actor who appears in Hindi films. Hooda began acting in school productions at a young age. After completing his studies in Melbourne, Australia, he returned to India and began modeling and acting in theatre. He made his Bollywood debut with Mira Nair's Monsoon Wedding in 2001. However, even after a good performance in the film he waited four years for a second project: Ram Gopal Varma's D (2005), which earned him critical acclaim. He has acted in several notable films since then, including Once upon a time in Mumbai, Highway, Kick and JIsm 2.
He completed his schooling from Motilal Nehru School of Sports Sonepat, Haryana. He used to participate in various sports competitions of the school like swimming, horse riding and gradually he started leaning towards sports and he has also won many national level medals. Later his interest started in theatre, acting, modeling. After that he was admitted to Delhi Public School RK Puram Delhi. Here he finished the rest of his schooling. After this, his family sent him to Australia for further studies. Here he completed his graduation in Marketing Management from a college in Melbourne, after which Randeep Hooda returned to India in 1995 after completing his post graduation in Human Resource Management.
Randeep Hooda was inclined towards theatre, acting, modeling during his school days, but due to his home environment being associated with education, he had to face a lot of difficulties in persuading his family in the initial days. Since his father is a doctor by profession, he wanted him to become a doctor after studying medicine. But Randeep Hooda's mind was only in the world of acting, modeling, theater, where was he in an interview that he enjoys acting in front of people on stage.
Hooda received critical acclaim for his role in Ram Gopal Varma's film D, which was released in 2005. After D, Hooda worked in several failed projects. His next breakthrough came in Milan Luthria's 2010 film Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, which was a turning point in his career. Subsequently, he became known for his roles in Sahib, Biwi Aur Gangster (2011), Jannat 2 (2012) and Rang Rasiya (2014).
