SHILPA SHETTY

Biography : Shilpa Shetty is an actress and model who made her debut in the super hit film Baazigar (1993), and has appeared in nearly 40 Bollywood, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films. Her performances in Dhadkan (2000) and Rishtey (2002) were appreciated, while her portrayal of an AIDS patient in Phir Milenge (2004) as well as movies Life in a... Metro and Apne, won her many accolades. In 2007 she participated in the British Celebrity Big Brother 5 reality TV series in 2007, Shetty was crowned the winner after an international racism controversy involving her and fellow contestants Jade Goody, Jo O'Meara and Danielle Lloyd. This victory reestablished her status in Bollywood. In 2009 Shilpa Shetty married businessman Raj Kundra and also became part owners of the Indian Premier League franchise cricket team Rajasthan Royals. A trained Bharatanatyam dancer, she was the captain of the volleyball team in school and has a black belt in karate.
