Singer, musician and actor, Shruti Haasan is actors Kamal Haasan and Sarika’s elder daughter. She made her Bollywood debut with the action thriller Luck. Her performance in Telugu movies like Anaganaga O Dheerudu, Oh My Friendand 7aum Arivu has been much appreciated. Although she is an established name in the Telugu film industry, she is yet to make a mark in Bollywood. Her last Hindi film was Prabhu Deva’s Ramaiyya Vastavaiyya. She became popular in the Dhanush starrer 3, when the song Why this Kolavari Di? went viral. Shruti began her music career at the age of 5. She has sung a duet with her father for the movie Chachi 420. She wrote the lyrics and sang for the Mallika Sherawat starrer Hisss. She also composes music for Tamil films. She has studied music at the Musicians Institute in California, USA. Her upcoming projects include Hindi movies too.
