Biography : Tanuja Mukherjee popularly known as Tanuja. She is the mother of Hindi film actresses, Kajol and Tanisha, and is most remembered for her roles in Hindi films like Baharen Phir Bhi Aayengi, Jewel Thief, Haathi Mere Saathi, and Anubhav. Simultaneously she appeared in Marathi, Bengali and Gujarati films. She started her film career with her older sister Nutan in Hamari Beti as Baby Tanuja. As an adult, she debuted in the film Chhabili which was directed by her mother and sister. She has won awards in her whole life time such as Filmfare nomination as Best Supporting Actress for Jewel Thief, Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award for Paisa ya Pyar, Best Actress Award for Marathi Movie Pitur Roon at the 20th Life OK Screen Awards. Recently in 2014 she has won two prestigious awards - Lifetime Achievement Honour at Apsara Film & Television Producers Guild Award, Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award.
