VADIVELU

Biography : Vadivelu is a Tamil actor and playback singer but it is as a comedian that he is most known. His slapstick humour is to be seen in a number of his movies. Although he made his movie debut with was En Rasavin Manasile (1991), directed by Kasthoori Raja, it his role in the movie Kadhalan (1994) that can be considered his real break. His other hits followed such as are Friends, Bharathi Kannamma, Vetri Kodi Kattu, Winner,Giri, Thalainagaram, Chandramukhi and Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi. His next project is the movie titled Eli, which will be directed by Yuvaraj Dayalan. His comic performance has won him a number of awards including the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Comedian for Kaalam Maari Pochu (1996), Vetri Kodi Kattu (2000), Thavasi (2001), Imsai Arasan 23m Pulikesi (2006), and Kathavarayan (2008). He has got the Filmfare Award for Best Comedian – Tamil for Chandramukhi (2005) and was nominated once in the Best Supporting Actor – Tamil for Aadhavan (2009). He won the Vijay Award for Best Comedian for Marudhamalai (2007) and was nominated once in the Best Comedian category for Aadhavan (2009).
