Zubeen Garg is quite the powerhouse of talent. He is a singer, music director, actor, lyricist, composer, director and poet all rolled into one. He also plays dhols, guitar, dotora, mandolin, keyboard and various other instruments. He released his first album Anamika in 1992. The album was a massive success and it changed the music scenario in Assam. Zubeen’s other albums include Zubeen’s Zindagi, Rock and Runjun. Till date, he has sung in 40 different languages. He acted in the National Award-winning movie Mon Jai (2007). In 2000, Garg wrote, directed and acted in the Assamese film Tumi Mor Matho Mor. He acted, co-produced and scored music in another Assamese film Dinabandhu in 2005 and it went on to win the National Award.
