Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande, who have been in a relationship for six years, called it quits a few days ago. The couple has been dating since the time they met and bonded on the sets of their popular TV show Pavitra Rishta. They were in fact engaged for a couple years now after Sushant proposed to her on Jhalak Dikkhla Jaa 4. However, the duo never walked down the aisle and with problems increasing day-in and day-out, Sushant was frustrated. The duo decided to finally split a few days ago and though they both are trying to sort things out still, things aren't looking too good. Sushant even confirmed the split to Hindustan Times, when he replied to their message saying, "I can’t talk about it right now. It is not a good feeling. Please, understand."

But what drove him to the edge? Well our sources reveal that not one, but three main factors lead to their split. They are as follows:

# Ankita's professional disinterest

Ankita Lokhande was a great actress and she proved her talent in Pavitra Rishta. However, after settling down with Sushant Singh Rajput and the apparent rise of the star, Ankita has lost her way. She became too comfortable and complacent. Both the stars were very ambitious and Sushant always thought his girlfriend was a great actress, but sources suggest that somewhere in between she lost interest in her career and became content in sitting at home and not doing anything. She was apparently offered two TV projects recently, but Ankita turned them down as she wanted younger roles. She isn't trying hard enough and Sushant is really fed up of her behaviour. He wants her to be independent, while Ankita has literally become dependent on the star.

# Alcoholic issues

Ankita likes to booze quite often and Sushant is apparently unhappy with this. He never had any issues with it, but sources suggest that he wants her to quit drinking now and concentrate on her career more.

# Helicopter girlfriend

Ankita's insecurity has caused a lot of problem too. A close friend of the couple told a leading daily, “She knew he was not cheating on her. In fact, a few days ago, when Sushant went to Cape Town for three days for a shoot with two girls, he surprised her by asking her to accompany him. She was the only woman in his life for six years, He was happy if she was happy and vice versa.”

The source further added that Ankita admitted that she couldn't control her feelings of insecurity and after a while, Sushant started reacting differently, not wanting to justify and repeat himself every day."He even told her that while he'd never flirt or date another woman, theirs was an open relationship and that he would never question her on her whereabouts. But even that couldn't cement a bond that was slowly breaking. He couldn't convince her that nothing would go wrong.” the friend said.

The couple were apparently offered Nach Baliye too, but he was so fed up of her that he disagreed to participate with her. So, while things look very bad for the couple currently, we hear that they might sort out their issues soon. The couple have been talking with each other and a few friends have spoken to both of them. While Sushant has shut himself up completely, Ankita is making the extra effort. Sushant's mood might change and they might just reconcile soon.
