Veteran filmmaker JP Dutta, known for directing blockbusters like Border, Ghulami and Kshatriya is making a comeback after 11 years as director with his new venture Paltan. Talking about the trailer, the war drama was impressive but surprising as well, since we never knew that there was an Indo-China war in 1967, in which we had defeated China. The film features the ensemble cast of Sonu Sood, Arjun Rampal, Gurmeet Choudhary, Harshvardhan Rane and Jackie Shroff. In the promo, we see all the lead stars in raw and gritty avatar that looked apt for the role.
In a recent chat with one of the leads, Gurmeet Choudhary, when we asked about wifey Debina Bonnerjee's reaction on watching the trailer he said, "Mere wife ka pehla reaction, I called her launch hone ke baad, saara interviews dene ke baad ke kaisa laga? and she told me ki Guru maine trailer dekhi, mujhe rone aagaya... main ro rahi thi. Meri sabse badi critic hai woh, mere kaam ka agar kuch lagta hai toh bol deti hai. Mujhe itna feel hua ke fauji bhaiyo ke baare mein sunke, yeh sab dekh ke ki mere romte khade hogaye or mujhe rone aagaya" It simply means that after watching the trailer Debina was teary-eyed.
Interestingly, JP Dutta, who was impressed with Gurmeet's work, has signed him for one more upcoming venture. Well, we must say, the actor is making a mark in Bollywood. Produced by Zee Studios and JP Films, the film also features Luv Sinha, Siddhanth Kapoor, Sonal Chauhan, Esha Gupta and Dipika Kakar in pivotal roles. Paltan is set to hit the screens on September 7.
