There is a new war brewing in B-town and it’s the Kaminey actor who will pay the price this time, wethinks!
Karan Johar’s new film Ungli was set to release on September 6, but the producer has pushed its release date back two weeks. So KJo's latest will now clash with Shahid Kapoor’s Phata Poster Nikla Hero at the box office come September. Thanks to KJo, the Shahid-Ileana D’Cruz starrer will compete with the star power of Sanjay Dutt, Emraan Hashmi, Kangna Ranaut and Randeep Hooda.
So there is nothing new about two big films battling at the box office. But here is the twist: The Student of the Year director wants to give Sasha a tough time and hence the change in the release date of his film. KJo has been at loggerheads with the Kapoor lad ever since the actor turned down his film Kaal a few years ago. But things really got ugly more recently, when Sasha walked out of KJo’s production Gori Tere Pyaar Mein at the last minute, leaving the director-producer fuming.
While Shahid is known for rubbing people the wrong way, this time he isn’t getting away with his high-handed behaviour. By deliberately postponing Ungli’s release, Karan seems to be giving the Jab We Met actor a deserved amount of grief. Poor Sasha desperately needs a hit to his credit - there has really been nothing big in his resume since Jab We Met - and Phata Poster... could have been the one if there has been no competition at the box office, no? But looks like the chocolate boy of B-town decided to take panga with the wrong person....and now his film will bear the brunt of that.
