Udta Punjab Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor in one film after a huge gap. The two were in a long term relationship till 2007, but since their split, they haven't starred in any film together. However they are back and while they don't have many scenes in the film together, this is going to be a very big moment as another ex couple reunites on screen. Earlier, exes used to stay away from pairing up for films, this trend is long gone and actors are now willing to work with their exes. In fact, when ex couples team up, the films have turned out to be blockbusters coz the audience is curious to see the couple together on the big screen. Here's proof that ex couples work wonders at the box office...
# Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor
Ranbir Kapoor were in a relationship for three years. They were madly in love with each other and were spotted together on various occasions while they were dating. However during this period, they did just one film together - Bachna Ae Haseeno which earned about Rs 17.71 crore at that time. A few years later, they came back together as exes for Ayan Mukerji's Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani which gave them their career best figures - Rs 188.57 crore. Their last film, Tamasha also had a great buzz and it earned a decent Rs 67.26 crore. Overall, the couple's films post break up did better than the one when there were together. The exes are friends at the moment.
# Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif
The power couple of Bollywood was together for well over four year. When the two were together, they did quite a few films together including Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya which earned Rs 7.55 crore. However, when they reunited after four years for Kabir Khan's Ek Tha Tiger , they created history at the box office. Ek Tha Tiger became one of the biggest hits of all time as it earned a stunning Rs 198.78 crore at the domestic box office. It was Salman and Katrina's highest grossing film of that time and people loved to seem them onscreen yet again! This couple is on talking terms.
# Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma
Ranveer and Anushka made their Bollywood debuts around the same time. In fact, Ranveer debuted opposite Anushka in Yash Raj Films' Band Baaja Baaraat . During the filming, they got close and between this film and their next film - Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl they were in a relationship. Their second film was a success as it earned Rs 32.97 crore. However, a few years later they broke up and weren't really on talking terms. Last year, they paired up for Zoya Akhtar's Dil Dhadakne Do , which earned Rs 76.88 crore at the domestic box office.
