In a tell-all interview, Mr Kapoor actually revealed a lot of things that will probably change your perception of him! Check out his revelations right here
After a long long time, Ranbir Kapoor finally decided to come clean about breakup with Katrina Kaif, his stance on social media and what he is as a person! Although post the success of Tamasha, he sort of went on a slight incognito mode and steered clear off the media. Well, even after reports of breakup with Katrina started doing the rounds, he didn't say anything to further feed mongers about his personal life. However, in a tell-all interview with famous journalist, Rajeev Masand, the actor said way more about a lot of things that have always been a question of interest.
On a personal front
He states that he doesn't owe the world or the media an explanation for the consequences of what happens between him and a person. And his answer is quite spot on as a lot of us believe in that, only difference being he's a celebrity and we're not!
#On being emotionally distant: I don't need to change the perception, don't want you to know me as a person. The lesser you know about me, its better for me, you know. I don't want you to know me as a person.
#About him in a relationship: In my previous relationships, whatever relationships I've had, lot of things were spoken and I think there is a, you lose dignity in what you have, what you share with somebody. Because it becomes a news item. It becomes fodder for gossip.
#On having kids and family: Of course, the time frame changes coz I had said that I want to marry at 28 and have kids at 30. So that changes. But my ambitions and desires are the same you know. I want to get married, I want to have children and I will do it in the right way. I will meet a light minded person and fall madly, truly and deeply in love and just take it from there. Everything should be natural and organic.
On breakup with Katrina Kaif
One of the most sensitive topics, his recent breakup with Katrina Kaif has been a topic he never opened up about. However, here he sits and answers everything about what its like post breakup and whether it is a breakup, after all!
#All is well on sets of Jagga Jasoos, he says: Not at all. I think Katrina and me had amazing creative energy, we've always had. Working with her, like I've said has always been fun. Apart from the fun, the kind of passion and work ethic she has, I don't think I've seen that in many people in this industry.
#Admits that he has been misconstrued: Whatever I said, it is misconstrued. My personal life is dear to me and my relationship with Katrina, it is or was very special. After my parents, Katrina is the most inspirational entity in my live. I hold her very dear.
#Finds it unnecessary to clarify: I cannot sit and explain my heart or my feelings. When my relationship is concerned, it was punctured by a lot of things- baseless rumours, reports, point of views, perceptions, etc. It hurt but I don’t want to talk about.
On social media
With almost the entire industry being an active member of social media including his own parents, Kapoor has different views about this whole frenzy. Oh but he does mention something interesting about his part in social media!
#Not really okay with the concept: I don’t like highlighting myself, I don’t like telling the world see where I am travelling, look at my great body, look at the food I eat or look how happy. I am nothing against social media because it’s a world phenomenon. I don’t want to be the guy who is dicing it, coz who I am to dice it; you know I can’t share my personal point of view. So my view is that there is a lot of brainwashing, there is a lot of self complementing, trying to put yourself on a pedestal. The good part is that you have direct connect with your fans and people, that kinda bridges that, but I feel it’s also disconnecting you coz it’s getting too close. As an actor you need to set back, you need that mystery and you want the audience to believe your character. They don’t need to know where I pee and how much salt I put on my food. It’s all stupid information.
#Is he on social media: Not on Twitter, on Instagram.
Having known what a brutally honest father he has, Ranbir has a rather different relationship with him. Senior Kapoor is very much loud about his views but when it comes to son Ranbir, he takes a step back!
#Talks about Dad: However fierce and on the front foot he is about topical things, I think he's a little protective about me. He gets a little soft. I don't think it's gonna be that open but you know I think I'm more of his kryptonite. He doesn't really say much to me. Even if he has an opinion, he keeps it to himself. He feels that I'm easily breakable and whatever he says will affect me so he really kinda takes a step back and kind off cushions it through my mother.
On professional front
Very important question revolves around his biopic prep for Sanjay Dutt. A lot has been said in the past but hear it out from the man himself!
#About Sanjay Dutt's biopic: I have due responsibility of portraying him onscreen the best way possible and most importantly in an engaging way coz that life is bloody interesting. It’s not a propaganda film; it’s not trying to paint him grey, white or black. It’s an engaging film; it’s a story which was waiting to be told. The actor further added that Sanjay Dutt was so giving and graceful to make this film. He even added that there was a time when Raju Hirani asked Dutt not to show certain portion of his life, but he was like no, all this needs to be told.
#And further continues: I can’t wait, it’s a tricky biopic also because it’s not somebody who is like in the past, or somebody who is dead or a political figure. He is a very famous Indian superstar who is still working in the movies. So how do you still make a biopic on him, what’s your beginning, middle and end. Especially what’s your end; you have a beginning and middle. So as an actor, it’s a challenge, but I have Hirani, Abhijat and the character of Sanjay Dutt, these are all great crutches and I am sure it’s gonna sail me through.
Did you ever expect Ranbir Kapoor to be so open before? Looks like he just changed everyone's perception of who he is in this tell-all interview. Check out the full video below. And tell us your thoughts in the comments section below!
