Ananya Panday's Bollywood journey did not get off to the best of starts with Student of the Year 2 not only under-performing at the box-office, but also not creating that much-needed first impression for one's performance that a debutante craves. However, the lass doesn't seem to be that perturbed about the entire episode as we recently found out in our conversation with the actress. (Of course, her sophomore outing, Pati Patni Aur Woh, doing well both critically and commercially, not to mention garnering her that necessary attention for her performance, doesn't hurt.)
Recently, when BollywoodLife sat down for an exclusive interview with Ananya Panday, the starlet opened up on the transition phase between SOTY 2 and Pati Patni Aur Woh, revealing how she dealt with the interim period while also opening up on why she'll always be grateful for her debut feature.
"I think with SOTY what happened is because it was my first film, and it was also Tara's first film, I don't think we realized the pressure of a film. I think we were just so excited about everything, watching ourselves on screen, knowing that people were actually watching us on screen — I think we were so excited about all of that; just the fact that I was in a movie, I couldn't be disappointed in any way. And if I could go back and change things, I wouldn't change anything even in a little way because I believe that Student did what it had to do — it was a film made for kids and a younger audience, and it did reach that audience.
"I feel that the fan base I created with Student, the kids that connect with me, the youth that connect to me — I wouldn't have got it with any other film. So, I'll always be grateful and I think I got a lot of appreciation in terms of my role and performance, so I wouldn't want to change it any other way. But with Pati Patni Aur Woh, it's just to good to be true in a way because a film like this getting appreciating from the media, audience, critics as well as the industry, it's so rare, and I'm so happy that it happened with us. We're just overjoyed."
Ananya has no doubt come back strongly with Pati Patni Aur Woh, which she graciously reflected on while chatting with us while also taking about an entire range of topics from being a fashion icon, youth icon, accumulating millions of followed on social media in no time, being admired by the youth, what she does to fit, the diet she follows, what are her comfort foods and when does she indulge in them.
