In recent times, we have seen actors Viraf Patel and Shalmalee Desai turn their focus towards script-writing. The latest to join the club is Ayaz Ahmed. We know him as Raghu of Do Dil Ek Jaan and Cabir of the hit youth show, Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan. The recent one to join the club is Ayaz Ahmed. The actor comes from a family of poets and writing is in his genes. In an EXCLUSIVE conversation with Bollywood Life, he said, "I guess I started writing and expressing myself through poems when I was in junior school but then I find 'when' irrelevant since I was born into a family of poets. My grandfather Late Haji Hafeez Karamatur Rahman and my father Abrar Ahmed are well known poets back home in Kolkata. I think it runs in our genes and it's my job to take the legacy forward. That is 'How' and 'Why' I developed passion for writing." The actor is now seen as Dhairya on the socio-mythological show Jai Santoshi Maa on &TV. As a busy soap star, how does Ayaz manage time for his passion. The actor says, "Earlier, I use to write occasionally. But then I started sharing some of my poems on social media platform since March 2017. I got a lot of appreciation from my friends and colleagues, which motivated me to write quite often and now I make sure I write at-least one poem per day. Even on days when I don't feel enough motivated I try to take out some time for writing to inculcate the habit. Perseverance is very important to turn your hobby into something productive."
The actor is currently working on a novel. He says, "I love writing poems more than anything else, I love how one can express so much in few lines. The beauty of the poetry lies in between the lines with the sweetness of rhymes. But I do write short stories occasionally and I'm currently busy finishing my first ambitious novella." Ayaz is an avid reader and quite obsessed with fantasy novels. He loves the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George RR Martin. Like many writers, he loves to write on pen and paper. "I feel euphoric when I have time to sit and write on a paper. Quite often I indulge myself in the good old method of pen and paper. But I must admit writing poetries are like revelations and one should always be ready preserve the words. So, my smart phone comes pretty handy in such situations." Ayaz is now developing a story for the web platform. Stay tuned to Bollywood Life for more scoop and updates...
