Sushant Singh Rajput is so awfully missed not only because he's gone too soon, but also because of the lives he impacted through some incredible films in a short career-span, or the personal bonds he forged with people. One such bond was with Dibakar Banerjee, who had directed him in the 2015 seminal classic, Detective Byomkesh Bakshy, which is why the maverick filmmaker found it so difficult to reminisce his dear friend when BollywoodLife had touched upon their collaboration and his memories of the same in an exclusive interview. However, with Sushant Singh Rajput's first death anniversary less than a month away, Dibakar somehow found his voice to remember the actor.
“It's still very difficult to talk about Sushant. Maybe four or five years later I'll be able to say what I feel or open up about my memories of him, but it's still very difficult now, it's just too soon. I still can't believe he's not with us anymore. Plus, what all happened after his death is something else altogether, best not to speak about that. There are obviously a lot of memories, but I can't talk about them now, maybe after a few years,” said Dibakar Banerjee.
However, the Director did open up on the possibility of a sequel to Detective Byomkesh Bakshy, where he added, “Making a sequel to Detective Byomkesh Bakshy is something that I have desired. I feel the story can be taken forward into a franchise. Of course, we'd have to cast another actor, but it is something I believe Sushant would have wanted.”
The 14th of June will mark one year since Sushant Singh Rajput bid farewell to this world.
