Shamas, Nawazuddin Siddiqui's brother, has been in Bollywood news circles for quite some time over allegations domestic violence, mental trauma, and a complete lack of respect on the part of Nawaz, Shamasuddin Siddiqui and their family. Addressing Aaliya Siddiqui's allegations in an exclusive interview with BollywoodLife, he said, "I used to always try sort out the differences between and her and my brother. In fact, I was the one who had introduced them, she had worked with me first in a film where she had acted and I was an assistant Director."
Elaborating on why his name has cropped up, Shamasuddin Siddiqui continued, "I'm being dragged in the middle of a husband and wife's issues. Aaliya is joining one unrelated incident with the other. Aaliya is levying a molestation charge on me, but this is very easy for a lady to claim nowadays. It's a very serious accusation, but it has to be proven first. Why isn't she going to court with these charges? Not even an FIR has been lodged. I think she has filed a complaint. But there's a big difference between a complaint and a court case. I've not even met Aaliya since many months, and a Section 354 complaint (molestation charge) is valid only for six months. Even the police needs proof, these are legal matter. She needs to prove them first."
Opening up on the claims of physical violence and mental torture, he added, "Aaliya has raised allegations of domestic violence against my family, not me. The major accusation is against Ayaazuddin Siddiqui, another brother. But she herself has said that Nawaz and her were living separately most of the time over the past five years, so how could my family have stayed with her," we interrupt and remind him that Aaliya claimed that her husband's family would come over and stay with her, to which Shamas responded, "That's a complete lie. Our mother and sister, who has died of cancer, used to come sometimes to Mumbai and stay with me. I have a pretty big home here."
Upon probing if she insinuated about the times she must've stayed at their village home, he replied, "Except for family functions, she used not stay with us in the village. And why hasn't she gone to the family court with these issues? Why she's only telling the media? This has become a matter of media trial vs. court?"
Mentioning that she had told us she just wants a divorce and monetary support from Nawaz, forgetting everything else as a bad dream, especially since there's been 4 divorces cases already in his family, including that of Nawazuddin Siddiqui's first wife, with seven more cases pending by the women of his fame, Shamas retorted. "Tell her to prove it that four divorces have happened. How many cases have been filed tell her to prove it. She has to prove all this. There's a heaven and hell difference between placing allegations on Twitter and proving them in court."
Upon pushing him further to frankly say if four divorces have taken place in him family or not, he finally stated, "No they haven't taken place (four divorces). She's only laying blames without proof. The women whom she's talking about are preparing defamation cases against her. They're happily married to my brothers with their children."
With him refuting every one of Aaliya's allegations as lies and ploys to gain the upper hand, we asked Shamas Siddiqui her motive behind it, to which he said, "It's because of the Rs. 2.16 crore that she owes me. She never returned a penny to me. She didn't respond positively to my emails, after which I was forced to file a case. As per the contract, I had lent her the money in April 2019 for her film, without asking for interest or profit. I just wanted her to return to my principle amount. But I had to keep lending her money as I was stuck. If her film, Holy Cow, did not complete, then I wouldn't get my money back. So I kept lending more money so that it'd be made and I'd get my money back. It got completed in January 2020, and she event found buyers for it. She still didn't return my money after that."
Claiming how Aaliya Siddiqui's allegations are a ruse to sidetrack the real issue, he explained. "This is all a money matter. I was forced to hire a lawyer after no positive response to my last email on 14th January, and we then started communicating through notices. As soon as their divorce controversy began, she deliberately started involving me and saying I was an issue. This was all a ploy to divert attention from the 2 crore 16 lakh she owes me, so that I don't pursue the matter."
The plot thickens between Aaliya, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, his brother, Shamas Nawab, and the rest of their family.
