Has anyone helped more people across the country during the coronavirus pandemic in India than Sonu Sood? We don't think so, and we're not only restricting ourselves to Bollywood celebrities. During both lockdowns, Sonu Sood has gone out of his way and made heaven and hell meet, becoming the messiah of scores of people both affected by COVID-19 as also those whose means of livelihood was severely curtailed due to the lockdown. So much so that slogans were raised both in person and across social media from several quarters, requesting the actor to be the next PM or at the least the CM of Maharashtra in the belief that he'll serve the people better. So, what are Sonu's thoughts on this. Fortunately, we got to know during an exclusive interview with the onscreen villain and real-life hero.
Opening up on whether he share's his fans ambitions, or, more realistically, would ever consider a political career in future, Sonu Sood said, “I have always maintained that I am an actor and that’s all that I love to do. I don’t have any intentions of entering politics as of now. And as far as the question of helping people is concerned, you can do that from anywhere. I am trying to help people in my own little way every day. Someone else might prefer some other way to be helpful to people.”
Revealing how all his COVID-19 relief work began, the Simmba actor added, “Last year when I saw that there were migrant workers walking all the way from the metros to their hometowns, that shook me. I saw those visuals and that made me feel that I should try and help them out. It all began from there and since then, my team and I have been doing whatever possible to help people through this pandemic.”
Well, we respect your wishes, Sonu Sood, but are also sure that many would still be hoping that you change your mind about politics.
