The promo of Tantra is out and the show, which revolves around black magic seems quite scary. Yesterday, we saw the promo that featured Manish Goel and Juhi Parmar. While the show seems to delve in the dark art of witchcraft, lead actor Manish Goel says it is not so. In an EXCLUSIVE chat with BollywoodLife, he said, "I play the role of Arjun Khanna on the show. He is a businessman who builds his dream home after a lot of hard work. However, the spot they select is cursed by witchcraft." The actor denies that it is an out and out supernatural show. "The serial is a social drama with supernatural elements. It tells the story of Niyati and her father. There is an element of mystery, which will intrigue the viewers. People will see a special father-daughter bond. Juhi Parmar's role is one that will hook viewers," says Manish.
We have a spate of supernatural shows lined up in all channels. Manish opined, "I think there is a definite liking for such shows. We had a time when family dramas ruled the roost and then we had socially relevant serials. This is the time for supernatural shows. Though I am not in favour of this herd mentality, we cannot deny that there is visible interest," he says.
Manish's character is a very contemporary one. "The Tantra bit is done in VFX on the show," he says. When we asked him if Tantra is inspired by Vaastu Shastra, he stated, "I have not seen that film but yes I know it is a about a haunted house," he said. So, finally is Tantra replacing Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka on Colors? "I have no idea about that," he signs off.
