Sohum Shah revealed how his young daughter showed confidence in the project

Tumbadd has won over every critic and the word-of-mouth for the film is also very strong. Every person who has seen the film based on folklore is raving about the production, acting and story, which is so new and refreshing. Actor Sohum Shah lived the role of Vinayak for six long years as the film took a long time in the making. He has produced and acted in the project. The actor did not accept any other offer during this period. In an EXCLUSIVE chat with Bollywood Life, he said, "My daughter liked the script from day one. She had predicted that the film would be successful and stand out because no movie was made before on this subject. It was during the shoot I understood why few films were made on such topics because shooting and recreating such settings takes immense efforts. In a folksy thriller, you will hear about a remote village that would see light showers 24x7. Now, creating that village and atmosphere of perennial rain is one helluva task for a producer. This is why I guess people do not look for films based on such subjects because of the time and patience they need." During the course of the interview, he also revealed how Vishal Bharadwaj saw portions of the film. "That was during the time of Haidar. Since then, he directed Rangoon and produced few more movies as well. However, we were stuck with Tumbadd till 2018," says Sohum with a laugh. Stay tuned to BL for more scoop and updates!
