Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor's Batti Gul Meter Chalu which also stars Yami Gautam in a pivotal role has picked up a fair momentum at the box-office after its release yesterday. The early projections showed a decent occupancy at the ticket window and the numbers are poised to grow. While the star cast is able enough to drive audiences into the theatre, it also seems like movie-goers are taking a liking to director Shree Narayan Singh's story-telling who had wowed us all with his last social entertainer Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. We recently sat down with the entire cast of the movie and it was a gala. From the message behind it, to why the subject us relevant, Shahid, Shraddha and Yami were in sync about all of that and more. In fact, they also opened up about their childhood memories about the days when there would power failure and it was a trip down memory line. Yami began the trail with, "Us time toh samajh main nahi aata tha, the gravity of the problem. All of us have been listening to each other’s to-do or go-to list of things jab power cut hota tha. One thing Shraddha and I shared was that ki padhai se chutti mil jati thi. But mummy candle le aati thi.” And they really did. Even though Shraddha was raised in Mumbai and its bustle she added, "During my childhood, the power would go a lot more often than it does now. But as Yami said, you end up doing all the masti as kids and take full faida of bati gull."
Shahid, you ask? Well, he did something rather different and we wish we had thought of that. He said, “I used to do very constructive things like finish all the contents in the fridge which could melt, and I would run away into the dark so that my parents couldn’t find me and make me study. So, the mombatis didn’t help because I was gull!” So, are you planning to watch Batti Gul Meter Chalu this weekend? Let us know, tweet us @bollywood_life.
