Jharkhand-based Anamika Majumdar is the first crorepati of season nine. The lady who is a B.Com graduate has been running an NGO in Jharkhand, 'FAITH IN INDIA - Female Aura Initiated Towards Hope' since three years. The lady will be investing the one crore for her NGO that works for the betterment of women and children in Jharkhand, which is a tribal state. Anamika, 41 is mother to two teenage children, Arnav and Prerna and lives in Jamshedpur. Her husband is the owner of a construction firm. Talking EXCLUSIVELY to Bollywood Life, Anamika said, "I am over the moon. When I reached home, there was a huge party organised by our neighbours. My children gave me surprises. However, we will not throw a big party as it is a waste of money. It would be disrespecting my endeavour of using the cash for the upliftment of women and children in Jharkhand."
Anamika, who is quite busy with her NGO did not get much time to study for the show. However, she has been a fan of quiz shows like Bournvita Quiz Contest and Mastermind India. "I am fond of informative stuff. I like to watch news on TV and used to watch quiz shows. I prepared for 15 days at night after my kids went off to sleep. I read up on current affairs and thankfully, my History has always been good," she says. When we asked for a tip in selecting the best person for a phone a friend option she said, "I feel people who opt for those who have specializations in certain subjects rather an good general knowledge. There is no sure-shot formula though."
The lady has struggled throughout the years to set up her NGO. She faced resistance from family at the onset who felt she was neglecting her duties as a housewife/mom and later others. However, her NGO in well-known now and this win has given her a lot of respect. Anamika did not cry post winning one crore as she did not wish to spoil her make up. "Haha...I thought I was looking fine on camera and had taken some efforts. I did not wish to ruin it," she says. Is Big B the perfect motivator? "Actually, we feel very nervous before him but he gives time to think over the questions. He is ver encouraging. Amitabhji told me to invest the money well so that I can put it in diversified use for my NGO," signs off Anamika.
