Manjari Fadnnis, who is best known for her roles in Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na and Grand Masti, has recently come out with her new short film, titled Megha's Divorce. Helmed by Nila Madhab Panda, the film sheds light on issues of climate change and pollution. Megha's Divorce is a part of an anthology called Interdependence, which comprises 11 short films from India, Morocco, Chad, Iceland, Portugal, Switzerland, Afghanistan, Brazil, China, New Zealand, and Italy. It was screened at the 50th edition of the International Film Festival of India. The audience got to watch Manjari's film at IFFI Goa and interestingly, she also saw her short film for the first time at the festival.
Sharing her experience of the same, Manjari tells us, "It was a fabulous experience. In fact, even I was watching the film for the first time. I hadn't seen the entire film and Interdependence has eleven short films together, all of them based on environmental crisis all over the world. All the countries, which participated in it, have made some amazing films. Everybody needs to watch it for themselves to realize the things that have been happening to our environment."
Ask her if her film is related to the rising pollution in Delhi, Manjari agrees and mentions, "When the script of this film was written, they had written in general about how the air quality in Delhi is bad. However, when our film actually released, that's when the quality of air in Delhi had reached its worst. It's just a coincidence that our film released at a time when it was actually going on. It is completely relatable for people in Delhi."
