Fans of Nawazuddin Siddiqui wait for Fridays when the actor's film will release. His fan base is strong and knows that if the actor is there in the film, it is going to be nothing but content driven one. No flashy glitz and glamour to distract audience like a toddler being pacified with a colourful toy. The hero's latest release is Babunoshai Bandookbaaz - a gritty, intense crime thriller that has the potential to keep you at the edge of your seats. Yet again, Nawaz brings his A-game to portray the titular character. We totally loved the movie, so decided to talk about it with the man of the hour himself. "The best response has come from the audience," the actor says talking about the praises coming his was as we begin to talk. We moved on to talk about some key points that worked in favour of Babumoshai Bandookbaaz - which in his own words is a small budget film that has been promoted as much as he can. Of course we questioned him about the controversy regarding the racist comments made on him during the promotional phase of the film, to which he had responded aptly on his Twitter handle. If you have watched the film, you'd know that Babumoshai - the badass who helms the story - himself takes pride in his "dark and handsome" appearance, which he knows is lady killer. For starters we definitely need more such character in Indian cinema. Taking us back to the comment made on him he said, "It was not a strategy. There was news report that a certain person has made comments that they can't cast someone fair and handsome opposite me, so I questioned if I am not good looking or handsome. Fair is good looking but so is dark. There was a dialogue on the same lines in our film." Nawazuddin further condemned the celebs promoting fairness enhancing products. "In our country, a 70-80 per cent of people are of brown skin. Then there are these big, responsible names who promote fairness creams, which means, they are giving inferiority complex to those majority of the people of the nation. They should not be confident about their colour -they are promoting this. 'You are not good looking because you are dark' - that is very strange," Nawazuddin further added. Hope the film fraternity pays some heed to his words and a change is brought in the society. It is about time. Nawazuddin won't be the first actor to raise his concerns over the celebs propagating fairer skin complexion. Earlier, in the year, Abhay Deol had stirred a controversy after he slammed the fairness product adds with big names attached to them in a series of Facebook posts. We hope the fight continues.
