Everyone is waiting with bated breath for the new installment of Golmaal to hit the silver screens. Last year, director Rohit Shetty confirmed the fifth part of his comic-caper with the special appearance of the Golmaal cast in Simmba featuring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan. Since then, fans of the franchise are waiting for an official announcement from the filmmaker regarding Golmaal 5. While the director hasn't commented on the same yet, actor, Shreyas Talpade, has given us a fair idea as to when Golmaal 5 will go on floors.
In an exclusive conversation with BollywoodLife, Shreyas revealed that it was Rohit who came up with the idea to tease fans about Golmaal 5. When we asked him about the latest development on the project, he quipped, "Rohit (Shetty) is working on a particular story but he will only tell everyone when he is completely ready with it. We are just waiting for him to be ready with it because Golmaal is something that is really close to us. The love that Golmaal receives is immense, so we hope it happens soon. I think, probably by next year, we will start shooting for Golmaal 5. I am hoping so."
Apart from waiting for Golmaal 5 just like us, Shreyas is also enjoying the amount of love he received for voicing Timon's character for The Lion King. "It always feels great when people like your work as you do it for your fans and audience. And obviously as actors, you want your fans to like your work and that is what we expect. So, you make sure all your energy and focus is concentrated towards making sure that your work turns out to be good. I was glad that people liked it, there were a lot of messages and phone calls that I received. It felt really nice, I want to thank Disney and Mona Shetty for considering me and giving the opportunity," he said.
The Iqbal actor revealed that he did this film for his daughter Aadya, who is only a year old. "Of course, when my daughter grows up and watches the film after 2-3 years when she’s got that understanding... it was made for her. When she sees it after a few years, she should be happy about it."
Apart from his own film projects, Shreyas Talpade is also working towards creating opportunities for young talents. Elaborating on the same, Shreyas said, "The thought of creating my own app was on my mind for some time. I decided to launch one because firstly, there are hardcore fans who really want to follow you and know about you. Secondly, it was done to provide opportunities for young people. As and when I got the chance, I made sure to introduce new talents to the industry. Whatever productions that we have done - be it the actors or technicians- right from Saie Tamhankar to Chinmay Mandlekar, most of the big Marathi actors that we have today, all are doing some great work. We were the ones to give them the first break when they wanted to start off in the industry. Someone had faith in me and gave me that chance, so obviously we would also want to do the same with the future generations. When someone suggested me to come up with my own app, I asked, ‘how will that help’ and the person mentioned that it is a very dedicated place where people can come and interact with you."
