Slow Motion Mein, the first track from Ali Abbas Zafar's Bharat, will be releasing tomorrow but the makers offered us a short glimpse by unveiling the teaser today. We caught a few partial views of this song in the trailer and the teaser is an extension of the same. Salman Khan looks dapper in a white studded jacket as he performs a bike stunt whereas Disha stuns in a yellow chiffon saree with a modern drape. To know more about what went into styling Disha and Salman for this song, BollywoodLife got in touch with ace fashion designer, Ashley Rebello, who worked on their costumes.
First up, speaking about designing the costumes for Disha, Ashley said, "The reference point given to us was one of the Russian circuses. I made a couple of sketches and showed them to Ali (director). We made one sample of it in a golden colour." However, the designer and his team decided to change the colour.
"Later, we thought silver would look much better since Salman Khan was wearing white. So, then we changed it to silver and Disha looked smashing in it. She has a great body and carried her clothes fabulously well. She looks very pretty and stylish," he added. When inquired if styling Disha was difficult, Ashley said, "No, not at all! She was completely into the character. She told us to do what looks best and what works best for the film. I did all the packaging- the embroidered clothes, the hair, makeup, the stockings, that clip on her hair-- everything was made according to the given era."
Meanwhile, the first song, #SlowMotion, from Salman Khan's Bharat is out now. Check it out here:
Coming to Salman Khan, the designer added it was a difficult process as he had to style everyone's clothes and not just the Dabangg actor's. "We had one person on board- she did all the research for us. I was on the sets of Bharat every day and it was really very taxing. Sometimes, we had 3000 people to dress up. To get the look and feel right, meant a lot of hard work. My team was excellent and all of them came out with flying colours." Concluding the chat with us, Ashley added that Salman Khan was in sync with Ali Abbas Zafar and was dressed according to the director's vision.
