Laal Singh Chaddha brings back the 3 Idiots duo Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan in lead roles. The comedy-drama directed by Advait Chandan also stars Naga Chaitanya in a key role, marking his Hindi film debut. Produced by Aamir Khan Productions, the film is inspired by the 1994 American film Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks. The screenplay is by Atul Kulkarni who spent ten years adapting the script, and another ten years purchasing the remake rights. The film has been shot in more than 100 location around the world and relates important events in India's history through the lens of Laal Singh Chaddha. Aamir, who plays the titular role, will be seen as an autistic man who understands emotions like no other. The film was earlier slated for a Christmas 2020 release but was delayed due to the pandemic and will now hit the screens on 11 August 2022 and benefit from the Independence Day weekend.
