Padmaavat is an upcoming Bollywood movie directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles. Film was earlier titled Padmavati which later changed to Padmavat and finally was named Padmaavat. It is produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ajit Andhare. Padmaavat was supposed to release on 1st December 2017 but the protests from Rajput Karni Sena caused a delay in the release of the film. Padmaavat is the story of Rajput Queen Padmini, who, according to legend, preferred to die to protect her honour rather than submit to Delhi's Sultan Alauddin Khilji, who was said to be obsessed with her beauty. The movie is all set release on 25th January 2018.
