Vikram starring Kamal Haasan in the lead role is an Indian Tamil language action thriller. The film had a threatical release in India on June 3, 2022. Vikram is written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Raaj Kamal Films International. Along with Kamal Haasan, the film also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Kalidas Jayaram, Narain, Antony Varghese and Arjun Das in supporting roles. The Principal photography of the film began on 16 July 2021. Interestingly the film is a namesake of a 1986 film that also starred Haasan. But as against speculations, the two films are unrelated. It was the Vikram prologue of 2020 that featured a remixed version of the theme song from the former film that gave rise to speculations that lived on until fans saw the film. The film has also been sold to an OTT giant for a whopping amount.
