Priyanka looks fierce as F as a tough cop in Jai GangaaJal and we seriously can't get over it....
Bollywood's number one crossover artiste Priyanka Chopra has just floored us with her powerhouse performance as Kashibai in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani and is here to dazzle us again with her tough cop act in Jai Gangaajal. We loved her in the trailer and she looks totally cool and badass in this one, there's no denying in that.
Priyanka who is busy shuttling between America and India came all dressed up in a body-hugging red body-con dress for the event and man, she looked STUNNING! She was at her candid best. She said she was tired but looked as fresh as a daisy. Here is what unfolded in the event held today. Read on.
#On working with Prakash Jha as the director
This is my quickest film. I never expected Prakash Jha to be what he is on the sets. We finished eight shots in one day and efficiently completed the film before the schedule.
Prakash ji is totally different to the image portrayed. He is funny and a riot on the sets. It is amazing how he plans his films. We worked for eight hours a day, yet managed to complete the film so quickly.
I like him as my director more than my co-star. It is fun to work with him as my co-star because I get a chance to pull his leg.
#On choosing to do Jai Gangaajal
I knew that Prakash sir wanted to cast me in the film about 4 to 5 years ago but we never seemed to get time to talk about it. My secretary finally told me that we have to set up a meeting with Prakash ji. I called him up and he was like I know you don't have time so why do we meet in the first place? I convinced him that we will work something out. After a rough narration of about 15 minutes, I told him that only I can pull off this character of Abha Mathur and aap toh abhi phas gaye!
#On her character of Abha Mathur, the tough cop
What I liked about the character was that she is tough, yet in touch with her feminine side. She is powerful and strong, yet she is graceful and celebrates womanhood. It is interesting to portray such a character.
#On being tough in the real life too
I m quite a fighter in the real life too. On one occasion, I was shooting for Anjaana Anjaani in the town and there were hordes of fans. Usually I am good with taking pictures but this one fan held my hand and wouldn't let go. I lost it and slapped him hard across his face. I later realized what I did and fled from the scene.
#On looking hotter than the KHANS in the police uniform!
Quitte expectantly, PC was posed with the question who does she like better in the vardi, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan? She pondered for a moment and quipped, mere samne kisika chance nai hai.
#On playing Kashi in Bajirao Mastani
I have mot seen Bajirao Mastani, forget Dilwale! So I have no clue about the context in which I getting compliments and I admit it is quite stupid on my part! I got AmitJi (Amitabh Bachchan's) hand written note praising me and it feels good but I am highly surprised for I never expected to be lauded for this role quite honestly!
#On the Nirbhaya issue
I feel sad and unfortunate learning about the gorberment's verdict but I am a law abiding citizen and hence would comply. But hte issue is not child versus woman but much deeper like why would any man, child or otherwise, would want to rape a woman.
