When Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor collaborate for a film, you can be rest assured that the film will be worth giving a shot, if nothing else. The two have tickled us silly numerous times and if the trailer was any indication, this time would be no different. Add to that the fact that this one has been directed by Umesh Shukla, who has given us a gem of a film in OMG: Oh My God, and your hopes from the film heighten. So, it is with much excitement that we head to a press show of the film. And here's how our reviewer, Ankita Chaurasia found the film to be so far...
The opening credits feature one of the best 2D animation sequences of Mumbai city. The film opens by introducing the characters. We meet Babu (Rishi Kapoor), a 75-year old, who relies on routine to stay alive. He is old and he knows it. Then there's his father, Dattatreya (Amitabh Bachchan), a 102-year old who doesn't feel a year over 26. He is on a quest to outlive a Chinese guy, who holds the record for being the oldest man alive. He has to live for another 16 years to make that happen. Now the only hitch is that inorder to live that long, he needs to be happy. But the only hindrance to his happiness is his son, who worries about everything. So, he tries to get rid of him by sending him to an old age home. But Babu, who hates change, will do anything to not move out of the house. Dattatreya, being a reasonable person, then sets a course of challenges for Babu to complete. But will Babu, who holds only the familiar dear, manage to take up all the challenges? The film has hit interval point and Babu has managed to complete 4 tasks so far, which has also lent us an insight into why is Dattatreya making him do these random tasks. Let's see what the second half of the film has in store for us now...
