Farhan Akhtar's directorial debut Dil Chahta Hai has completed 18 years of release today and we are seeing all the fans of the film have trended 'We Want DCH2' on Twitter. Featuring Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Khanna in lead roles, the romantic comedy is considered one of the modern classics of Bollywood and we should thank our lead stars for making the characters of Akash, Sameer and Sid so loveable and still relevant in today's times. But you will be surprised to know that Aamir Khan and Saif Ali Khan were not the first choices for the film as Farhan wanted Hrithik Roshan and Abhishek Bachchan to play Sameer and Sid. "I wanted Akshaye Khanna to play Akash, Hrithik Roshan for Sameer and Abhishek Bachchan for Siddharth (Sid). But films are generally made with a cast which was not on your wishlist," Farhan Akhtar said in one of the shows. Honestly, we also want Dil Chahta Hai 2 to happen and we hope Farhan will fulfil our wish soon.
Meanwhile, Aamir Khan will soon start the shooting of Laal Singh Chaddha. It is the official Hindi remake of Tom Hanks' blockbuster Forrest Gump. The film will be directed by Secret Superstar helmer Advait Chandan and is written by Atul Kulkarni. It also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan in a lead role and will clash with Akshay Kumar's Bachchan Pandey in Christmas 2020 at the box office.
On the other hand, Saif Ali Khan will be next seen in Laal Kaptaan. The film is directed by NH10 helmer Navdeep Singh. It produced by Eros International and Aanand L Rai's Colour Yellow Productions, it will feature Saif in the role of a naga sadhu out on a journey ridden with drama, revenge and deceit. Earlier, the film was supposed to hit the screens on September 6 but now has been postponed by the makers. So, like us even you want the sequel of Dil Chahta Hai? Tweet to us @bollywood_life.
