Many small superstars entered Bollywood, but failed to leave a mark. However, amongst all his contemporaries Ankita Lokhande's beau seems to have decoded the mantra for a hit inning in B-town...
Sushant Singh Rajput's latest film Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! has garnered the actor a lot of praise. Directed by Dibakar Banerjee this film is creating the right noise both with the critics and at the box office. This film is also important coz it cements Sushant's position amongst established stars off his generation like Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. And here are three things that his television friends like Karan Singh Grover, Gurmeet Choudhary, Barun Sobti and Jay Bhanushali can learn from the actor's successful stint in the Hindi film industry...
The right choice: It is not about making an entry, it is about making that perfect entry. Unlike KSG or Jay Bhanushali, Sushant chose a movie that wasn't about steamy sex scenes or going shirtless. Kai Po Che showcased Singh in the right light. With no heroine opposite him in the film, Sushant played the real hero. He was the central character and didn't need any sensational lovemaking scenes to grab eyeballs. His fans too loved his transition from Manav in Pavitra Rishta to Ishaan Bhatt in Abhishek Kapoor's adaptation of the 3 Mistakes Of My Life. While the others harped on hype around their intimate scenes, Sushant cashed on his acting and image. Despite his next film Shudh Desi Romance failing to make an impact the actor managed to get good offers. He was also seen in a cameo in Aamir Khan's PK, Sushant got in his third film that no TV actor had in the past - a role in Rajkumar Hirani film!
The right noise: There has been ample buzz around Rajput's love life. Every now and then we hear about the actor having a fight with his girlfriend or then rumours of marriage etc. But he has chosen to let work do all the talking. So, we might spot him hand-in-hand with Ankita at filmi premiere's and dos, but that is all you will get. He has also been in news for signing Shekhar Kapur's Paani, walking out of his mentor Abhishek Kapoor's Fitoor opposite Katrina Kaif and patching up with him later. All this is positive buzz, which only goes on to show that the actor is making not just right career choices, but all noises. He has ticked two big directors on his list and is working with international famed Kapur which is clearly an upward career walk.
Acting first: Unlike Karan who is more popular for his relationship with Bipasha Basu or then Jay Bhanushali who is fighting for limelight opposite sexy Sunny Leone, Sushant has become an actor trying to fight it out with biggies like Varun, Sidharth and Shahid Kapoor. He has clearly etched out his race with the top stars. He is confident that his craft will earn him his next big move and is busy focusing on work. We will not be surprised if the actor manages to bag a film opposite an Alia Bhatt or Shraddha Kapoor with a renowned filmmaker in future.
