Hrithik Roshan is one of the most talented actors in Bollywood and he has proved that time and again. Not only is he blessed with good looks, but fantastic understanding of cinema too. He is a complete actor and perhaps one of the few people who doesn't shy away from taking big risks. Just imagine any superstar doing an unconventional role of a blind man in Kaabil, after two box office disappointments like Bang Bang and Mohenjo Daro. In fact, he was one of the first actors to go for an offbeat film like Fiza as his second project. Post that, he even played a terrorist in Mission Kashmir. For a newcomer, these were huge risks and he delivered all of them perfectly. But he has delivered three of his best performances when he played characters with certain disabilities. Never has any mainstream superstar played such characters thrice and nailed them perfectly. And so we recall these three roles of Hrithik Roshan right here:
Koi...Mil Gaya
Aliens in Hindi films were hardly a theme back then, but Rakesh Roshan took a dare and made Koi...Mil Gaya which introduced us to perhaps the most adorable alien ever Jadoo. However, before Jadoo cures Rohit, he is shown as a grown man with the brain of a child. Hrithik nailed the role! He was friends with kids much younger than him in the film but never did he make it look like a caricature. He is clueless why his mother tries to shield him from everyone and why the girl he fancies treats him like a kid. Hrithik played various shades of that character with such sensitiveness that it should become the bible for anyone who wants to do a physically challenging roles in films. Guzaarish
Hrithik played a quadriplegic in this film. The main lead of a film playing a man with no mobility, bound to a chair with only his face moving...you will never see another such film in Bollywood ever. That's because our lead actors are expected to fight goons, dance with heroines and save the world at the end. Hrithik dared to be different. It was a risk which he took and did a fab job. He gorged on food because a man bound to a chair for years cannot have six pack abs. He even met quadriplegics to get an idea of how they live and was left enamoured by them. All that translated on screen in Guzaarish. ALSO READ - 5 reasons why you cannot miss Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam's Kaabil
Kaabil
Hrithik played a blind man in the film and he has done it with conviction. A source from the sets had told us earlier that Hrithik never let his character slip even when he was doing such a complicated dance number (Mon Amour) for the film. And we saw it in the film. He knew the character he played had limitations and he performed accordingly. From the movie, it was evident that no attempt was made to make him look like a Bollywood hero who can do anything despite not being able to see. He overcomes his challenges to avenge his wife. And that's called keeping it real! In fact, we feel Kaabil is one of his best performances ever.
We feel it's only Hrithik who can manage to perform such roles with conviction because he is someone who has faced difficulties as a kid. And for that he deserves a huge round of applause.
