Here are the revelations you can expect from the upcoming season.
It is that time of the year again when the latest season of our favourite TV series Game of Thrones will air again worldwide. It is time to go back to the mysterious, brutal and wonderful land of Westeros and all its inhabitants. But, there are a lot of unanswered questions which all of us want to know, like what happened to Jon Snow, Sandor Clegane or The Hound, who the hell is Hodor really and so on. And so we have for you 5 such burning questions with some really bizarre fan theories that might shed some light or confuse you even more...
Jon Snow is dead/alive/white walker/a warg
All of us who have seen Season 5, know that Jon Snow was stabbed repeatedly by his brothers of the Night's Watch, a mutiny which was lead by Ser Allister. The camera pans down to show our new Lord Commander lying still in the snow. But then what? What is the fate of our grim hero? Well, by this point there are several speculations, some of which are outright crazy while others a bit more obvious.
The most simple one is, Jon Snow is actually dead. The makers of the show are supposedly changing the script from the books this season and if so they might choose to actually terminate this character. So all the fans of a Song of Ice and Fire may be in for a rude shock.
Another theory has it that Jon will be resurrected again by Lady Melisandre. He will then rise as Azor Azhai, the ultimate warrior of light who will defeat the white walkers. The book supports this theory because according to prophecy, the warrior will rise out of salt and smoke and sure enough in the books, Snow's wounds smoke and his body is covered with the salty tears of his comrades. But this is Game of Thrones and it is all about unpredictability.
The most outlandish theory of all is that our hero will rise again as a white walker! Although there are no real reasons to back up this terrifying claim, Maise William aka Arya Stark said that there is a huge twist in his story, but he still may not be alive. So this points to the possibility that he might truly turn into one.
The final, interesting theory is that the late Lord Commander is actually a warg and he goes to live inside Ghost until his body can be resurrected. There is a strong chance for this to happen because in the promos, Sir Davos and Ghost, the direwolf were seen guarding Jon's corpse.
Whatever happens, we want him alive and kicking!
Hodor had an encounter with the Lord of Light
Ever wondered who this giant yet simple man really is? Is he just a human looking horse for Bran Stark to ride on or there is more to this character than meets the eye. Some theories suggest that Hodor might actually be trying to say R'hllor, the name of lord of light. He might have a very pivotal role to play in GOT since no one actually suspects him to be capable of anything.
The Hound aka Sandor Clegane is very much alive
Remember the time in season 4 when The Hound fell off a cliff, broke several, got a nasty stab wound, got his neck wound infected and left for dead by Arya Stark? Yeah well the books strongly suggest that our giant surly bodyguard might still be alive. In the books, Brienne of Tarth, who ironically led Sandor to his fate, is at the Quiet Isle where there is a mysterious grave digger who is almost as large as Sandor and sustains similar injuries. Also, when Brienne asks the elder about his fate, the elder elusively answers that he is in peace. So it looks like both the Clegane brothers are alive, although we can't really call The Mountain's zombified state as alive.
Tyrion Lannister is a Targaryen
Yup, you heard it right. Not Jon Snow, but our super witty Imp might actually be having the dragon's blood. There are theories that the mad king Aerys Targaryen, actually had an affair with Tywin Lannister's wife, Joanna and Tyrion is actually his son. Not just that, Tywin always despised our favourite dwarf for no good reason, well looks like this is a good reason as any.
Brandon Stark joins the White Walkers
That's right! The second youngest Stark might actually be going over to the dark side. Brandon's activities has alway been shady to say the least. And last we saw him crawling towards an old man who sat in a throne of bones beyond the wall. So it is not very farfetched to think that in between all this mystical journey, he might actually side with the White Walkers. The biggest evidence of this happening came out in a promo recently where Bran is standing along with the Night's King, the leader of the White Walkers.
So what do you think of these theories? Too crazy, weird or do they make sense? Do you have any theories of your own, if so please let us know in the comments below.
