This is a big day for Tollywood industry as two leading stars are teaming up for their first project together. Both are huge stars in their own right and enjoy a crazy fan following. In fact, their fans have been wanting for them to come together as interestingly they belong to the same family. Yes, we are talking about the power packed brother duo - Chiranjeevi- Pawan Kalyan! In a statement one of the producers Subbarami Reddy confirmed this project," “After watching Chiranjeevi in ‘Khaidi No 150’, I felt that I should return to producing movies. Then, I felt that Trivikram will be the best director to make this movie. Pawan Kalyan is also on board. I will be co-producing the film with Ashwini Dutt,” Well, this news has been the topic of discussion all day after all announcements like these don't happen often. When we gave this team-up a thought we concluded the director and the producer have a winner in hands already - Here's why
Chiranjeevi
The fact that the mega star of Tollywood is part of this project makes it a promising one already. His on screen presence sends fans into a tizzy even after all these years, his comeback film Khaidi No. 150 is proof of that. He returned to the big screen after a decade with this Telugu remake on Jan 11, 2017 and delivered one of his career's biggest hits. It felt like the megastar had never left. This project could go on to be his second hit, if the director chooses the correct script in the appropriate genre for both stars.
Pawan Kalyan
He is not the Power Star for nothing. Although his last film ( Sardaar Gabbar Singh) was declared a flop, he has been part some of the biggest blockbusters of Tollywood - Gabbar Singh, Jalsa, Attharintiki Daaredhi to name a few. He's the only star to have pulled of Salman Khan's Dabanng role in the remake - Gabbar Singh with equal attitude and star power. Like Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan boasts of a magnetic star presence.
Brothers teaming up - While fans are excited about two powerful stars coming together, what makes this collaboration most interesting is that they happen to be brothers. For the first time two brothers who are stars in their own right stars are teaming up for a film. THIS is what makes the upcoming project more intriguing. What is this story that has got both of them come on board at last? We can't wait to find out. Box office bonus - When two leading heros of such stature are brought together for a film, one is paving the way for a record breaking BO collection. When Chiranjeevi's comeback film crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in 5 days, his box office power increased multiple fold. As for Pawan Kalyan his last film may not have taken off, but that won't reduce the hype around any of his releases. Also, Katamarayuda starring the Power Star is set to release in March. If the Veeram remake brings him back with a bang, this duo is unstoppable.
Fan base - Chiranjeevi boasts of a huge fan base and the same can be said for Pawan Kalyan. Imagine, the flurry of excitement when the project will be officially announced. It's not enough that their own legion of fans go berserk on social media with their individual updates, that now when they actually come together, it will be a social media storm one has never seen before.
Having said the above, one can't deny that an equally powerful script of the right genre is required for this project to be a bumper success. Now that Pawan Kalyan and Chiranjeevi are on board, the producer-director can concentrate on those aspects.
