Much has to do with the logistics. A Gentleman was supposed to post decent numbers at the box office. Our Trade Expert had predicted Rs 25 crore opening weekend but it only earned Rs 13.13 crore. Everything was in its favour. The trailer unveiled a really stylish film of Hollywood level. So the expectations were pretty big. Also, it was rumoured to be a sequel to Bang Bang! starring Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif, though the makers had condemned that vehemently. It did help the film get some attention. But it’s not enough to just look good. Despite getting more than 1000 screens, the film only made Rs 13.13 crore which wasn’t expected from it.
