Jacqueline Fernandez and Sidharth Malhotra have teased us enough and finally the day has come when the film will hit the theatres near you! After checking out the trailer and songs, we're convinced that August is going to be one hot month. Although the film faces severe clashes with Aadar Jain - Anya Singh's Qaidi Band, Nawazuddin Siddiqui's Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, Ajith Kumar's Vivegam, Amol Gupte's Sniff, Stephen King's The Dark Tower and Ryan Reynolds - Samuel L Jackson's The Hitman's Bodyguard, A Gentleman surely has an edge. As you can see, all the films have a completely different plot and theme and hence, in a way, Sid and Jacky's film does have an upper hand. Here are all details you must know about the film.
Sidharth Malhotra, Jacqueline Fernandez, Suniel Shetty, Darshan Kumar, Betsy Graver and Zachary Coffin.
A sundar and susheel Gaurav has everything in life, starting from a luxurious house, a good job and basically everything. The only thing missing in his life is a ladylove. Enter Kavya. Cupid strikes between the two. While Gaurav wishes to settle down with his love interest, for Kavya, he is far too sundar and susheel. She wishes he were more adventurous and lived on the edge. All hell breaks loose when Rishi (Gaurav's look alike) enters their lives. Well, his risky life and a mistaken identity leaves Gaurav in trouble. As people are after Rishi's life, so is Commander Vijay Saxena, who wants Rishi by hook or by crook. What happens next is something we'll be finding out soon! While initially it was speculated that the film was a sequel to Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif's Bang Bang! However, the makers have clarified the same and from the trailer and songs, we're convinced that it's far from Bang Bang's sequel. Speaking of which, did you check out the trailer? If not, we have it below.
The trailer of the film gave us a lot to talk about. With the gorgeous visuals, high octane actions sequences, sizzling chemistry between Jacky and Sid, peppy soundtracks, picturesque locales, the trailer leaves little to the imagination. While it does bring out the confusion caused due to Gaurav's look alike Rishi, we're super intrigued by the other elements of the film. Clearly the production cost of the movie is pretty high because the result is fantastic. Plus, while there are a lot of things to talk about, we're more interested in Suniel Shetty's character. Though he seems like an antagonist, we can't make up our minds yet. Perhaps you could judge it better by watching it below.
Composed by Sachin and Jigar, the songs of this film promise chartbusters. Heck, they've already ranked high on people's playlists. The tracks have a nice balance in terms of peppy, plain and romantic. You'd notice that they've kept a nice pattern ranging from a party track to a romantic one. Lyrics of the songs have been penned down by Vayu and Priya Saraiya. In total, the film has five tracks. You can check out the song gist and video below.
Bandook Meri Laila
Rapped by Sidharth Malhotra himself, the song holds a sexy factor, courtesy the very hot Jacqueline. The chemistry they share in the song could leave you sweating!
Laagi Na Choote
Sung by Arijit Singh, without a doubt, it's a romantic track. The video of this song is quite hot as Sid and Jacky get a little naughty under the sheets. Of course, it's sensual and not the way we said it above. But you get our point, right?
This track has Benny Dayal and Shirley Setia collaborate. Now it's not really a great number, however, it has a catchy tune. Like it will definitely get stuck in your head. Can't say the same about the video. It has the duo dance all night but not in a flattering way.
Baat Ban Jaye
No, it's not a rendition of the classic track, Aap Jaisa Koi Meri Zindagi Mein Aaye Toh Baat Ban Jaye! This one is sung by Siddharth Basrur and Priya Saraiya. Once again, it's not a mindblowing track but it sure will ensure to make a place in your memory cells.
O Chandralekha is the kind of song that would make you wish your office parties were just as fun! It has Jacky take on a pole and dance it up with immense oomph. The song has been sung by Vishal Dadlani and Jonita Gandhi.
Box office prediction
Talking about the screen count, Akshaye Rathi, our trade guru said, "Babumoshai will release in about 500 screens, Qaidi Band will release in about 700 screens and A Gentleman will release in about 1600-1700 screens. It's hardly a clash between the the three films because all three cater to a different audience and belong to different genres. So the viewers have a variety of options which film to choose from."
Watch or not?
Sid and Jacky's sensual chemistry with the backdrop of Miami's exotic locales, need we say more? You must watch the film for them. But if the reason doesn't suffice then we've got more reasons. Suniel Shetty! Of course, watch him play such a grey role (especially thanks to how hot he looks now) he's definitely one of the prime reasons to go check out this film. However, with the kind of competition that's set to take place on August 25th, we would like to know what you would do. So tell us in the comments box below.
