And you thought Aamir was insecure about Salman? Read on to get this latest report...
As soon as the trailer of Salman Khan's Sultan hit the web, everyone started speculating if it's made Aamir Khan insecure coz obviously- he too plays a wrestler in Dangal. Buzz was that Aamir reportedly couldn't digest the fact his film Dangal is shaping up to be exactly similar to Sultan. In fact, some even went on to report how Aamir personally called up producer Aditya Chopra to sort things out and seek changes in both the films. However, ask Aamir about this whole insecurity fuss and he laughs it off saying, " I never did any changes or asked for any. This is coincidence. His films are entertaining. Our stories are different. One aspect is sane but stories are different. I saw the promo. Really good. The song is also good."
Clearly, there is no insecurity between Aamir and Salman. In fact, Aamir further added on to even clarify that just because Sultan and Dangal centre the plot around a wrestler's life doesn't mean they are similar. He says, "Wrestling is an important aspect. It's a human interest story. It's socially very relevant. It's very entertaining as well. You may think it's grim and serious. But the script made me laugh and cry at the same time. Subject is important."
Talking about the plot, Aamir had earlier revealed, "Dangal is not just a film about wrestling, it’s an emotional journey of a father and his two daughters, which teaches us to empower our girls. Nitish Tiwari’s narration made me laugh and cry, it inspired me and made me feel the thrill of celebration. I play an ageing ex-wrestler with four daughters, two of whom are young adults, so I’m ageing myself. I’m also training in wrestling and learning Haryanvi!” Not to forget, we had recently also got to see a deadly transformation of Aamir working out in the gym.
While Sultan is releasing this July 6. Dangal is all set to hit the screens in December Do you think Aamir will outdo Salman in this wrestling space? Drop your thoughts in the comments below!
