Aamir Khan was one of the few who decided to do something about the #MeToo stories that have become the order of the day, sadly. He had sat with the Producers Guild of India to discuss measures where they planned to put a body in place which will make sure women in the industry feel safe. The superstar had also recently posted a long note on his Twitter handle stating that he has opted out of a film. The actor had even stated that he backed out as the director of that project was accused of sexual misconduct. Soon after the actor shared the tweet, social media users were quick to speculate that the movie in question is Mogul, the film which is based on the life of late Gulshan Kumar. Not just that, T-Series chief Bhushan Kumar had even confirmed that Subhash Kapoor who was supposed to wear the director's cap has been sacked.
Naturally, it was a dismaying news for all Aamir Khan fans but it seems like things might just turn the way they were supposed to, or even better. According to a Mumbai Mirror report, the perfectionist apparently is back in Mogul following Kapoor's exit as a co-producer. Not just that, buzz is strong that he might play Gulshan Kumar himself. A source was quoted saying, "The script is close to Aamir and he wants to make the film. Bhushan and he have had a number of meetings since and decided to collaborate on Mogul again. The hunt is on for another director. They are also looking at finalising the cast so they can roll with the film, asap."
Earlier, while speaking to The Indian Express, Kapoor had said, "I understand and respect Aamir Khan's and Kiran Rao's decision. Since matter is subjudice, I intend to prove my innocence in the court of law." If you're not in the know, Akshay Kumar was roped in to play the lead but that didn't pan out.
