The Mr Perfectionist of Bollywood is currently busy with this film
Aamir Khan, who impressed everyone as an alien in Rajkumar Hirani’s PK is now working on Nitesh Tiwari’s Dangal, which will see Khan as a 55 year-old wrestler. The film is based on the life of Mahavir Phogat, father of Indian women wrestlers Geeta and Babita Kumari Phogat.
After a lot of discussions, the makers of Dangal have now finalised Fatima Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra to play Khan's daughters in the film. While Fatima is a Mumbai girl and has been a part of a few films and a TV serial, Sanya is from Delhi and is a trained ballet dancer as per a leading tabloid.
Earlier there was buzz that Kangana Ranaut will play the role of Aamir's daughter in the film. These rumours began after Ms Ranaut expressed her keenness to work with Mr Perfectionist. Soon the Queen rubbished the rumours and clarified that she was never offered the film. She actress said, "I’d love to work with Mr Khan sometime soon, but we aren’t working on Dangal together."
While talking about his next, Aamir had said, "Dangal is not just a film about wrestling, it’s an emotional journey of a father and his two daughters, which teaches us to empower our girls. Nitish Tiwari’s narration made me laugh and cry, it inspired me and made me feel the thrill of celebration. I play an ageing ex-wrestler with four daughters, two of whom are young adults, so I’m ageing myself. I’m also training in wrestling and learning Haryanvi!”
