He will make you think about it too...
We are mightily impressed by the trailer of Diana Penty and Abhay Deol starrer Happy Bhag Jayegi. Despite the positive response the cross border comedy was compared to Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan due to a similarity between the plotline. But Abhay, who is returning to screen after 2 years with Happy Bhag Jayegi feels it is different than any other film out there.
At a presscon in Lucknow when Abhay, Diana and Ali Fazal had a jovial interaction with the media. Abhay on being quizzed about how different is Happy Bhag Jayegi from other films replied, "It is beautifully written. The pace has to be fast throughout, it has to keep you on the edge. It's a comedy. You don't see a film with Pakistan in India without it being a political thriller or a drama. This was a comic caper."
Further praising film's director Mudassar Aziz, who has also helmed the script, Abhay added "Mudassar has a great command of languages. Urdu, Marathi, Hindi, so he writes beautifully. Creatively speaking, it would be the script it is in a space that no other film has gone. Especially when making one between India and Pakistan."
Producer Krishika Lulla also feels that while many cross-border films are hard-hitting, Happy Bhag Jayegi will be light-hearted. In a recent interview with a news portal, she had said "It's a different kind of film. We are also coming at the right time. After Rustom and Mohenjo Daro, this will be a refreshing light-hearted film."
Happy Bhag Jayegi is written and directed by Mudassar Aziz. Releasing on August 19, it also stars Ali Fazal and Pakistani actress Momal Sheikh.
